Rihanna’s new fragrance is set to hit department store shelves in Febraury. The fragrance called Reb’l Fleur, has a special meaning “Rebel Flower,” which derived from a special person.
Rihanna explains, “My grandmother in Barbados used to call me her Rebel Flower,” the singer tells PEOPLE of what inspired the fragrance’s name. And while the name might be the natural choice, deciding on the final mix proved something more of a challenge. “Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own,” she says. “But I wanted…something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.” The end result recalls the star’s Caribbean upbringing with ripe fruits and sumptuous florals, as well as a musky mix of vanilla, patchouli and amber. Get your money ready for February. This may be a nice Valentine’s gift fellas.. The fragrance will be $49 for a 1.7 oz. bottle.
You can also catch behind the scenes footage of the perfume shoot at the special DVD that was featured in “Loud” Deluxe edition.
Rihanna is doing great things with her new fragrance and her album sales. Rihanna’s “LOUD” was last week’s top selling album worldwide for a second week!
In the United States, the album is up from #7 to No. 3. “What’s My Name?” remains at #4 in the US, which is still good — the track reached the top spot almost two months ago.
In addition, Ri Ri is expected to work on Nicki Minaj’s video for their collaboration off the Young Money rapper’s debut Pink Friday song “Fly” with Sanaa Hamri in the director’s chair.
Nicki Minaj talks about the upcoming video in saying:
” We’re shooting the video with Rihanna for “Fly” this weekend. We’re going to save the world in more ways than one with the video and that’s all I can say about that… I love Ri-Ri! I mean, when she’s not grabbing my ass she’s a sweet girl.”
