Whitney Houston Funeral Recap

Yesterday, was an emotional day as we watched legendary entertainer Whitney Elizabeth Houston aka Nippy be funeralized at her church home in Newark, New Jersey at New Hope Baptist Church. It was an amazing service as Dionne Warwick served as the announcer for performances and shared Nippy with the world.

There were so many heartfelt and touching stories from everyone who was a part of this service. I think it was a great decision to take it back to the CHUURCH!
All the performances were fantastic as The Winans Family, Bebe & CeCe Winans, R. Kelly, Clive Davis, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and many more paid special tribute to Ms. Houston.

There were so many great speaker at this service from Bishop TD Jakes, Marvin Winans, Kevin Costner, Whitney’s manager/sister in law Patricia Houston, Tyler Perry and many more.

I must admit my favorite speech was delivered by Whitney’s bodyguard of 11 years Mr. Ray Watson. He was very genuine and heartfelt when talking about Whitney from a personal experience. He hit it on the nail!

I must share his speech with you here:

Check out other great moments from the service below and great quotes:

___
“The other thing I know for sure, and this is more important than anything that she’s done in her life: Whitney Houston loved the Lord.” — Perry
___
“Your tears may fold. … The flowers will wither. … You’ll be driving down the street one day and you’ll hear Whitney’s voice talking in your head. You’ll giggle inside of yourself as if she were sitting in the car with you, and you will find that people that you really love they may leave you outwardly but they never leave you inwardly.” — Bishop T.D. Jakes
___
“We suspend our sorrow, perhaps our anger just long enough to remember the sweet miracle of Whitney.” — Kevin Costner
___

She “still wondered, ‘Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?’ It was the burden that made her great and the part that caused her to stumble in the end. If you could hear me, know I would tell you, you weren’t just good enough, you were great.” — Costner

“Even when she was tired or a bit lost, she gave and gave and then gave some more. When she did not want to do things, she did them anyway, and we are so much better for it.” — Houston’s sister-in-law Patricia Houston
