Week 8, In the NFL kicks off Thursday night. with the matchup between AFC south division rivals Tennessee Titans (3-4) vs the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4) . The Titans and quarterback Marcus Mariotta, hope to lead the Titans to a victory that will make them 4-4. On the other hand the Jaguars are hoping to get a W out of this game as they sit in last place in the AFC South.

We are three nights into the NBA 2016-2017 regular season. Thursday night will be a slow NBA night with only four games being played. The Washington Wizards will play the Atlanta Hawks. The Boston Celtics will play the Chicago Bulls. The San Antonio Spurs will play the Sacramento Kings. The night cap game will feature the Los Angeles Clippers taking on the Portland Trailblazers.

In Murfreesboro TN, a legendary figure in college hoops will host the 3rd annual Murphy Madness (think Midnight madness but MTSU style). Dick Vitale will be a special guest for the free event that is set to launch the upcoming regular season. Fans will get to see the players for both the Blue Raiders and Lady Raiders showcase there uniforms. Although the college basketball regular season does not officially start for the Blue Raiders until November 15th where they will host the Murray State Racers. The Lady Raiders official start to the regular season will be November 11th where they will be playing on the road against the Virginia Cavaliers.
The Blue Raiders last season finished 25-5. They also earned the 15th seed in the NCAA tournament where they upset the second seed Michigan State in the first round. That victory was short lived due to MT loosing in the second round of the tournament to 10th seed Syracuse Orange. The Lady Raiders also finished last season strong with a 24-9 record but they lost in the 1st round of the NCAA Women’s tournament to the Florida State Seminoles.
