LETOYA

Tonight was a MAGICAL HISTORICAL night for Music City at TPAC! The 2017 Black Music Honors was hosted by comedian/talk show radio host Rickey Smiley and sanger/actor LeToya Luckett. Rickey and Letoya were GREAT HOSTS! This was Letoya’s first appearance since her NEWS spread of her engagement! ( yas go LETOYA! 🙂 )

The night kicked off with a bang as the award ceremony honorees musical greats such as: Jodi Watley, Guy, Slick Rick, Oleta Adams, Donnie McClurkin and a special lifetime acheivement award for The Jacksons.

It was definitely a star-studded event on the red carpet as we so some our favorites: Kid and Play, Carl Thomas, Da Brat, Montell Jordan, Jon-Jon, Sevyn Streeter, Oleta Adams, and of course the Jacksons.

The stage was set vividely and every performance was on POINT! We could tell they had rehearsed and practiced to perfection. Some of our favorite moments were the Guy Tribute performance from SWV, Sevyn Streeter performance of “Do You Want Me” in the Jodi Watley tribute, and Kid N Play, Montell Jordan and Da Brat tribute to Slick Rick.

The ICING ON OUR CAKE OF COURSE WAS THE JACKSON 5 PERFORMANCE! They announced they would be going on a world tour which just happened to start with us! We don’t want to spill ALL THE TEA SO YOU WILL HAVE TO WATCH WHEN IT AIRS ON BOUNCE TV IN SEPT!

Paris Jackson covers Harper Bazaar

paris

Paris Jackson the oldest child of Michael Jackson is all GROWN up and ready to set the record straight as she graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar! Check out her full interview here. Highlights below:

HIghlights of interview:

On being Michael Jackson’s favorite child:

“When I was a kid, I was with my dad and my two brothers. Growing up, I was treated as the favorite because I was the only girl. I was the princess; I was perfect in my dad’s eyes.”

On being famous and how to handle haters:

“Who gives a f*ck?” she asks. “You’re on their mind—how is that a bad thing? Doesn’t matter if they’re saying good or bad things about you. They’re thinking about you enough to write about you. You just can’t care.”

“But what if you do care?” I ask.

“I used to feel that way,” she says. “Then it gets to a point where, you know what, it’s going to happen. Not everybody is going to be happy with what you do. If you’re not happy with what you’re doing, that’s a problem,” she says. “If you’re happy, who gives a f*ck?”

On using her platform to speak on politics:

“Plenty of times I’ve thought about not doing anything in the public eye and having my own private life. Then I started seeing how everything in the world is going. And I feel like each year it’s getting worse.”

MICHAEL JACKSON FEATURING AKON-HOLD MY HAND

THE KING OF POP

OKAY, so I heard this song on the radio yesterday and I want to know is this a GO OR NO-GO WITH MJ’s new song that Akon insisted on releasing.

According to MJ NEWS:

The song entitled “Hold My Hand”, a duet with Akon, is a song they recorded in 2007. A handwritten note from Michael belonging to his Estate indicated his desire that “Hold My Hand” be the first single on his next project. However, in its unfinished state, the song leaked out in 2008. Akon recently completed the new and final production of “Hold My Hand.”

On December 14th, Epic Records in conjunction with the Estate of Michael Jackson, will release the much-anticipated new album MICHAEL. The album contains ten tracks, produced by an esteemed group of producers along with Michael Jackson. While primarily focused on songs that Michael worked on recently, there are also earlier compelling tracks.

Man I so miss MJ! RIP. His memory will definitely live on forever with all the music he made and all the new technology we see with him like the new game The Michael Jackson Experience, which is definitely on my Christmas List! ( Check out the game below)
